ROBERT E. HOYE, PH.D,.FAAMA, FRSH

BIOGRAPHY



Dr. Robert Hoye is in his twenty-ninth year as a Faculty Mentor in the doctoral programs leading to a Ph.D. in Health Services and Public Health at Walden University. He was named The Outstanding Faculty Member in 2000 and received The Bernard L. Turner Award in 1994,

He currently serves as Kentucky State Director for the American Academy of Medical Administrators, where he is also recognized by being named a Fellow in the Academy. He was further honored by being named a Diplomat in Healthcare Administration for extraordinary service to the profession in 1994. He received the Healthcare Statesman of the Year Award in 1992 (Recognizes nominated members or non-members who, in at least 20 years of service to the healthcare field, have made a significant innovative contribution to healthcare delivery). He served as Chair of the Editorial Board of AAMA for a ten-year term.

He holds the distinction and title of Professor Emeritus from the Graduate School at the University of Louisville, where he served as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Coordinator and Founder of the Graduate Program in Healthcare Systems Management and Planning. He has held appointments as Full Professor in the School of Medicine, School of Education, Systems Science Institute and Institute for Community Development. He is a Fellow in the Systems Science Institute and a Research Fellow in the Far West Laboratory, San Francisco. He was appointed as Honorary Clinical Professor, College of Allied Health, University of Kentucky.

During his sabbatical leaves, he served as Distinguished Visiting Professor of Healthcare Administration, School of Public Health, San Diego State University. In a later sabbatical leave, he researched the differences between the Canadian and United States healthcare systems by working with hospital administrators in Manitoba, Canada.

He served as Leader of five Delegation of U.S. Healthcare Administrators to the Peoples Republic of China, where he visited and lectured throughout the country. He was named as an Honorary Faculty Member at the Medical University of Kunming.
